Paul is in The Friend!

See that handsome blonde missionary in the bottom left corner?
Yep! That's Paul (then Elder Frandsen).
His big magazine debute in the May edition of The Friend. (Page 19).
I'm going to buy a hard copy tomorrow.

:)

And an update on Reuben- the diagnosis has actually changed- a cancer that has never been found in children before. So rare- and so unfair. To stay updated on him- see Val's blog.

reuben

So while we were in Pennsylvania (see below)...
Val was changing little Reub when she noticed a bump and bruise on his shoulder.
Sunday Paul spent with Val and Reuben in Hershey- trying to figure out what was wrong.
Well-- he's been in and out of hospitals the past week and a half since then, and today we got the bad news...
they think it is Infantile fibrosarcoma- a very rare form of cancer found in children.
Such bad news.
So keep this little guy (and his family) in your prayers please.

Pennsylvania and D.C.

Paul and I had a fantastic trip to Pennsylvania and Washington D.C. last week.

Paul took his last final on Wednesday night and we flew out the next morning. Nathan and the girls picked us up from the airport- then we drove back to Shippensburg to a patiently waiting Valerie and a very smiley Reuben!
We had a great weekend with them at Marian's 1 year anniversary of her bone marrow transplant. The cotton candy was a hit! Plus we got cool new Superstar tees.

The nights we spent watching the NBA playoffs- during the day we did some mountain biking (at least Paul and Nathan did), hiking, watching Audrey play some guitar and just hanging out.

We went to D.C. on Monday morning and enjoyed Monday and Tuesday looking at all the sites, and taking in our nations history. Then we flew back Wednesday.

Thanks Goates family for a great time! We love you guys.
