Guess.

What do these things have to do with each other?

Well, if you cut open your finger with the can of corn you can stop the four hours of  bleeding with krazy glue.
Something I learned by personal experience on Monday.

resolved

Thanks to everyone who emailed/facebooked me about my migraine issue. I think I have fixed my blog so you can leave comments again. Hurray!

I love this picture of Paul and I. It was one of the first times we hung out... catching bugs for entomology with Kurt and Kendrina. I never would have guessed that night of the matching shirts that someday I would marry this handsome man, and that one day he'd be making a career out of his love of those bugs. Life is pretty magical that way.

Olympics

Loving those Olympics.
2010_winter_olympics_logosvgpn
I remember getting to my elementary school early so that I could play with my friends on the ice that had formed on the blacktop. I liked to pretend to be Tara Lipinski the most, but sometimes was Michelle Kwan.

With no blacktop to "skate" on now, I sit on the couch in a blanket and watch.
It's amazing that I will start to breathe heavy with someone as they approach the finish line.. just because they live in the same country as me... but I do, and I think that is why the Olympics are a powerful reminder of country, of dedication to a sport, and how the world can be united.
Plus, snowboard cross is just way too cool.

Go USA!

Migraine Advice?

photo: Celeste Carruth. PS. I can't find that headband and it's my favorite.

If 30 million Americans are affected by migraines... maybe some of you can help me out.

I've had migraines in the past, but very far and in between. In the last month I've had three. Yesterday was the worst of them. The symptoms included... blurry vision, numbness in my hand, then I was trying to read a website and couldn't put the words together, then I was talking to Paul on gchat about the situation.. and as you can see... I obviously couldn't put my thoughts down logically:

10:53 AM me: no, camie can just come me. if it gets bad before you left i'll call you. i'm trying to tought it uot
 Pauly: ok
  well don't be too tough
what were those letters that you got yesterday?
10:54 AM me: letters? i'm having have a hard to think and type right
Pauly: there were two letters that you received, I should have told you that.
they were from delaware or something but sent from provo
  it was weird
 me: i didn't see thouse
Pauly: you're spelling all of your words wrong
10:55 AM I'll stop bothering you
take a break when you need to
me: i have to read everything you read a few time days.
What is weird is that I remember trying to think of how to spell the word "day", but in retrospect... I obviously didn't even need to use it in the sentence.

It was really bizarre and scary not to be in control. What I tried to talk, it wasn't much better than the typing, I knew what I wanted to say, and would plan it out in my head- but it would come out with the wrong words in the wrong places.

After I took a long nap and some Ibuprofen I woke up with just a slight headache.
Any advice???

Love those Colts

I love the NFL.
Since meeting Paul I've watched a lot more football.
When our boy Austin Collie signed with the Colts and joined up with my favorite quarterback Peyton Manning, I knew I'd be watching.
At Christmas, all I asked for was a Colts shirt (and got one, thanks Paul!)

And what a great season :)

I am so excited for the Superbowl!
Sidenote: Ladies, if you hate the fact that your husband loves to watch sports all the time, try sitting down with them and watching. But don't just watch, get to know the players and the strategy, and I'm betting you'll love it. (I do.)

At Olive Garden the guy servers will ask me questions about football (college and pro) and I usually know more than they do. :)

Anyways, the point is... no I'm not bandwagoning for the Colts (we've loved them for a long time, and watched every game this year). But I sure am happy that we get to watch Austin Collie in the big dance, and my guess is... he'll have a touchdown too :)

Since about week 9, I wanted the Saints and Colts both to make it to the Superbowl, because they had the most impressive seasons. If certain coaching decisions hadn't been made, we might even have an undefeated team on our hands (and if the Cowboys didn't exist, which would be great we might have two undefeated teams). Still.. I think it will be a great game. And you can't ask for classier guys than Manning and Brees. Oh, and cross your fingers for Dwight Freeney.

lovelies

Paul's sister (actually I should say sisters there are three, but since I'm referring to Mindy...) loves holidays. She doesn't just celebrate the holiday, she kicks off the month-long celebration with a party. There is... Halloween Haunting, Christmas Kickoff and Love Fest!

This will be the third Love Fest we will attend together (what? three years!? I just met him!)

And I have to say, that our home is looking pretty lovely now from Love Fest presents.
This is really the only place in our home to put any decorations.. haha, so there we go. The slanted walls aren't conducive to shelfs or hangings. But we love this place and its eaves.
Thank you Shelly (my mom's best friend) for the under-bed Tupperware full of decorations... one for each holiday. Without that, I'd have close to none. (Serious though. I don't think any decoration in this house was purchased by me. That's probably why there are slim to none most of the year.)

Thank you Val, for buying an extra copy of this for Paul to give to me for our first Valentines day. It seems the last few years we've spent Valentine's day apart because of my lacrosse trips. In fact, I think this will be our first together. Anyways, I would always bring this book on our lacrosse trips and read it to my team. They still joke about with me :)

This little gem of a picture isn't just up at Valentines day. I love it so I keep it up all year. Thanks Mindy. (Love Fest 2009)
Thank you someone in Paul's ward for this Willow Tree figurine. I really do love it (even if every other couple I know has it...haha)

And of course, Love Fest 2008. We have two of these, because Paul and I didn't live together then, so we both got one. Cool.

So, happy February. The month of love.
Make it a good one :)
