currently.

Explanations?
Her:
1. NPR (slash WNYC) is my life saver during my commute to and from practice (30 minutes each way). My favorite show is Soundcheck, which is usually during my drive. I like feeling like I know what is going on the world, the big things and the little. Paul and I always talk about how Public Radio is awesome because they can do features on the weirdest little things that are actually so interesting. We chat about cool NPR things at dinner, and pretend we are sophisticated and clever.

2. Yellow shoes. Because I've got to find some for my brothers wedding and I am having no luck! Any ideas? I don't really want to spend $80 like the ones pictured above. I'm getting so excited to fly out and see my family and see my brother get married to the love of his life. He's so happy, it's awesome.

3. A new dress? Pretty much always on my mind, but especially around Easter because that's a tradition. This one is from here, which seems like a cool little shop. I'd probably buy it up real quick if I knew it was long enough. Curse those barely-too-short dresses. I'm picturing it with tan legs and boots.

4. Our upcoming trip to London! Have you been there? Any great ideas or traveling trips? I'm so excited to go, but so nervous for Paul to leave. He'll be there for over two weeks before I get to join the fun. Lonely in New Jersey is not fun at all, promise.

5. Finally found myself a pair of aviators. Hurray for Target, am I right? You see, I don't really want to have wrinkles at age 23, but squinting in the sun everyday at practice was putting me on the fast track to wrinkly-forehead heaven. Hopefully these babies will give me a few more years of youthful glow. Is that too much to ask of sunglasses? Too bad, I'm asking it!

Him:
1. When is a new bike NOT on his mind? But not just buying new bikes, riding and racing and loving every second of it. Maybe I should have put a picture of his leg muscles under mine, because sometimes I can't help but say "Ow! Ow!".

2. DNA, because that's how he rolls... or should I say, that's what he does everyday all day. Extracting, analyzing, sequencing, etc. Smartypants in the house!

3. Caddisflies. And with warm weather approaching, I bet we will be out there catching these suckers. Are you jealous or what? Think camping, outdoors and black lights to attract the bugs/have dance offs? Okay maybe not the second part, but it could be fun.

4. Hello baseball season! So glad to be real close to our favorite team that we might actually attend some MLB games. Paul's been to a Braves game, but he was just a baby so we need to give that another go. Phillies!

5. Simples, which he found here for a great deal. Perfect because he's been wanting some of these recycled wonders for some time now. Save the earth? Save money? Sounds good to me.

What's on your mind homies?
(Maybe I call my lacrosse team homies all the time. Is that better or worse than "guys"? I vote better.)

kind of sweet

I saw this engagement shoot and thought it was kind of adorable.
Inspired by Pixar's UP.

(it also reminded me of this post, by friend brynne)

Plus, guess what! Boylan soda is from NJ. Their rootbeer is fantastic.
I have an empty bottle on my shelf, actually.

Do you like those butterflies? They're real! In fact, I caught the yellow one all by myself.
An entomologist better have some good bugs displayed, right?

Ar-kan-sas. Three words at a time.

Planes were flown.
Fires were spotted.

 Bikes were ridden.
 Will was smug.
 Greg was chubs.
 Ellee was sweet.
 Paul got old.
 Frandsen siblings bonded.
 Trailers were pulled.
 Aliens were bathed.
 Monsters were cleaned.
 Nailpolish was found.
 Sun was shining.
 Surfing on porch.

It was a great spring break trip. Who knew Arkansas would have such warm glorious weather? I even got a sun burn and started my chaco tan lines.
Devn + Abby and fam were the best hosts.  I loved chatting with Abby, playing Just Dance, visiting Devo's hospital, playing baseball and lacrosse, riding bikes, and eating Bavarian Tort.
Even a vicious flu bug couldn't stop us from having fun.
Arkansas accents are awesome. I think everyone should say yes ma'am and yessir.

Greg made me baby hungry. How can fatness be so cute? Why can't that happen after age 5?
I want those Frandsens to move closer to us.

In Jimmer news...
let's hope Audrey's bracket is right?
Go Cougs.

Also, New Jersey needs to stop it's crappy weather streak. Practice was canceled Monday and a scrimmage was cancelled today. Snow on the field? It's supposed to be Spring! Enough with the roller coaster weather! Where are we? Utah!? i wish? i'll get to that in a sec.

(Under that snow is the nicest field/stadium I have ever seen- spoiled!)
Isn't it weird to see turf without football lines on it? That's what you get at an all-girls school. Also, the red lines? Field hockey. Almost as cool as lacrosse? Naaaaaahhhhhh...
You can see New York City from the field. It's pretty much the only hill I've seen in New Jersey, and the school's at the top. People call it a mountain but it's not. Am I being a mountain snob? Definitely. I miss me some mountains!

(I saw this interesting fact about the school recently, the original structure burned down 100 years ago, and there is a NY Times article about it here! I love old news stories.)

Also, (a rambling post I guess)? My fam is at Lake Powell this week. Always a hard time to be the lone lost child far far away.

(Lake Powell picture because I can't be there...)

In good news, we booked our flights to Utah for Eric's wedding!
May 5-9 if you like us enough to want to see us!

PS: Sorry about the font/size issues. Can't fix it for the life of me.

Another year older and wiser.

Happy Birthday to my most favorite dude in the world:

You're my best best best friend.

(PS We get to see those cute kiddos tomorrow. We're going to Arkansas!
I'm as excited as Will looks in this picture)

Rutgers Cycling!

This weekend was cool because Paul had his first collegiate races.
That's right.
That man of mine is now an official member of the Rutgers Cycling team.
Someday our kids will think their parents were bomb-diggity for being college athletes.
...Hopefully they will think that?

Here are a few pics of PB in spandex, looking so fine.

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can!
Truckin' up that hill.
The race was in front of Rutgers stadium. Nice!
On the trainer. Warming up those buff legs.

Up the hill! Catch that wheel!
On the sprint!
#634 baby.
Changing in the car, and you get a closeup of his sweet kit.

Results of the races:
Top 10 finish in the time trial, mid-pack finish in the criterium and front-pack finish in the points race.
Not too shabby for a newby racer, right? So awesome.
Apparently riding the Alpine Loop all the time last summer wasn't just for jokes. This guy has got skillzzzz.

Marriage to a cyclist = lots of air dried laundry.

And now... for the gem/random/stalker pic of the day:

While I was waiting for my biker man, Mr. American Coaster Enthusiast whipped out his comb and started going at it, we can all agree he's looking real good, right? (Are we playing Balderdash or something? Is ACE for real???? Yes... google just told me it is real. Next step: join the club.)

I actually used a real camera for some of these pics, but mostly just my iPhone - can you tell?
Was it worth the effort?
Uploading real camera pictures is just so annoying now. Ahhh.. modern technology.

PS. Can you believe the field I get to coach lacrosse on????? Tryouts are going great and thanks to all my lax babes that reminded me of great drills through texts, emails and comments. Love love love ya.

Lacrosse Comeback

Remember the good old days when I played lacrosse?
And I loved it so much and I miss it so bad?

The best thing happened.
I got hired as a lacrosse coach!

It's a private all-girls school with a growing program. I'll be the assistant varsity and head JV coach.
Try outs are on MONDAY.

I've been going through my brain for all the drills, workouts, and skills that I learned in the past nine years since I first picked up a stick.

(LACROSSE FRIENDS, please remind me of some of your favorites?! I know a few of you read this thing and I really need your help!)

Getting in the lacrosse mode again, I went through a bunch of pictures of the glory days. Enjoy!

High school: Go Spartans!

 seniors....

Beetdigger win. Probably one of my favorite games ever ever ever.
