Baby Mykita

What a surprise is was on Wednesday morning to hear that Camie's (Paul's sister) water broke!

(She wasn't due till March 1st)
And later that afternoon... a little 5 lb 12 ounce baby girl was born!

Paul skipped his class and we headed to Salt Lake to see BRAND NEW BABY MYKITA!

(Lucky coincidence- it was my brother Eric's birthday too! So we got to see him and eat cake on the way home)

There just isn't anything like holding a 3 hour old baby. :)

(How in the world did she even fit in Camie's tummy!?!?)
Congrats Cam and Cod!

for all you stalkers

so... I thought that the only person who read my blog was me. And maybe my sister Celeste.

Turns out that there are a whole lot of stalker friends out there.

This is a shout out to my PR girls.
PS- I added all of you to my blog list so I can stalk you back.

That was for you Abby.
:)

PS- This was a successful cooking weekend for me.
Peanut Curry on brown rice (turned out pretty dang good!)
and.. chocolate chip cookies (new recipe, courtesy of my former news writing editor)

Oh- and I am so grateful for spellchecker..because I just spelled recipe and courtesy wrong (and probably a lot of other words too).

Here is a picture to keep you entertained.(I don't know why- but I love this pic of Paul. This was with Mark on the last day of their mission. Plus-- I'm not at home, and I just emailed this to someone, so it is pretty much the only picture I have access to at this moment... and a post just isn't a post without a picture.)

Recent Events

First of all, I'd like to thank Paul for finally posting something on our blog (see below).

Lots has happened in our lives in the past month! We had a great first Christmas and a fun New Years. We loved having a break from school- but now we are back to the grind.

Here are some pics from the past month.

Paulie had shoulder surgery to repare his AC Joint which he hurt in high school and last year in college. He is still recovering :)

Paul and I went on a nice winter walk on Christmas Eve. We visited the Olsons and then came back. Fresh air was good for that very sore man.

Paul got a GPS from Santa and so we've taken up a new hobbie of GEOCACHING!!!!
This was the second "treasure" we ever found. We love taking other people with us. We've gone with my family, Irelynd, Camie and Cody and were planning on going tomorrow with Donna.

Paul and I went to Body Worlds with Mindy and Jason- which was awesome.
We also went to a Jazz game in December (thanks to Mindy and Jason) that was awesome too. But I dont have pictures from those things.
Since Paul and I aren't planning on any little ones any time soon-- we just love spending time with our nieces and nephews. Here are babies Will and Luke in their matchy Christmas PJs.

This was todays art project- or as Val put it our "crafternoon". This is for a project Paul is doing for his history of creativity class. These are all very creative dudes from 1500- Now. See if you can figure out who they are. And if you have suggestions for other creative people, you can give leave a comment for those too!
(Alexander Graham Bell wasn't quite finished when we took this pic- so I hope Donna doesn't feel left out).

Anyway, Merry Christmas, Happy New Years and Happy Martin Luther King Day tomorrow!
