vacant?

whoops....

So on Tuesday, I was sitting at my internship and I realized I hadn't checked the mail since Paul left.
You see... Paul always checks the mail because he's the only one who ever gets anything in the
mail (except a kind letter from my little sister that I received a few weeks ago).

So I realized on Tuesday, and that night Paul called (at 1:30 am again) and asked if I had been checking the mail. I said "well.. no... but today I actually realized I haven't been... ", he wasn't too happy (and then the call failed, but luckily he called back about 30 minutes later and said "i didn't want that call to end with me nagging you about the mail")

So then, Wednesday I went to my parents house right after work, and got back this morning and went straight to my internship and then straight to Olive Garden.. and I just got home and guess what.
I CHECKED THE MAIL!

Look what surprise the mailman left me.
The bottom of it reads...
"PRESUMED VACANT ON 7-16-09. MAIL HAS NOT BEEN PICKED UP SINCE JUNE."
(and June was actually written bigger and in all caps, as if the mailman needed to show his frustration with me)

Shoot! That was today. If I had only remember one day earlier.

Now I'm sure I'll have to go through all sorts of halibalu to get the mail (I put our mail on hold until July 28 so that it doesn't get lost or something). I don't know- I'll call the post office tomorrow.

But it's kind of true-- about our little place being vacant. I'm gone so much anyways, but especially with Paul gone- there is no life in this little nook. Just a place for me to fall asleep.

So anyways, don't forget to check your mail.

:)

gracias

I just couldn't take the picture of a large mongolian being the first thing i saw when i opened my blog.
And since i've blogged about Paul for the past 3 posts- I thought maybe I'd post what I've been up to.
But since I mostly just work (Olive Garden and internship at the Marriott School)all the time... I'd thought I'd give a little thanks...

to my family.

For loving and supporting me when I feel lonely.

For taking me boating, visiting me (at work and home), letting me visit them, calling, texting, chatting... and probably praying.

They're the best. I'm excited for a week at Lake Powell with the coolest family ever.

Naadam.

Great news! Paul called me last night (1:38 a.m.)!
He told me some great stuff, about how he's eating great, catching lots of sweet bugs, etc.
He also let me know about a HUGE Mongolian holiday that was yesterday... called Naadam.
It's also called "The Three Games of Men"- so obviously my man had to participate!
The three competitions are:
WRESTLING
HORSE RACING....AND ARCHERY...
and Paul WON the archery competition! I said "did you have bows and arrows?" and he said "No.. we just threw a rock a bottle, and you know how good of an arm I have..."

I was also quite happy to hear he didn't wrestle to protect his shoulder. I wonder if they did any horse racing...

So I'm very proud of him! And mostly happy I got to hear his voice and know he is alive, safe and happy!

And by the way... we are HALFWAY through these long four weeks!
