It took me 7 months but I finally finished documenting our trip to Germany and Switzerland.
Since other people's blogs and travel logs were so helpful to me in planning, here is our trip all in one place and in time-line order.
We did all our transportation via train (the bahn.com website was extremely helpful) and our focus was on mountains and nature more so than cities. Let me know if you have any questions, I'd be happy to share any knowledge if you are planning your own Germany/Swiss adventure (especially if it's to come visit us this summer!!!)

your documentation of germany made me want to go back to jon's motherland so bad that we contacted our friends in the military to see if we could come visit them. they already had plans to get reassigned somewhere else and move back to the US, sad!
